For the past month we've been remodling my room. My brother bought a house in October and moved out in January. My mom is going to turn his room into a sewing room, so we're going to put in new floors and paint the walls and all that fun stuff. Well I thought since his room is empty we could do mine too. So I moved into my brother's room which is significantly smaller than mine, while we put up sheetroc, paint and put in new flooring in my room.
So currently most of my stuff is in boxes stacked up and unaccessable. I have just enough floor space to get into my room. And my computer is sitting on a dresser, while I sit on my hope chest to work at it. When I move back into my room, I'll have a new desk to work at, I'm getting one for my birthday on Saturday (I won't actually get it untill we're ready to put it in my room, but I am getting one. My old desk consisted of a 12" by 12" shelving unit, that my laptop sat on and a wire grid storage system set up for my mouse and printer. A new desk will be nice, I'll actually be able to put my feet under my desk. =)
Back to the remodel. My room is going to have wood style laminate flooring, light blue walls with white trim and with doors on the closets and for the main door. We are hoping to be painting on Saturday (my birthday) in hopes of getting the flooring in the next week and me moved back in by the middle of April so we can start on the other room before my mom has her surgery.
My mom is having surgery on her ankle on April 22 to fix the tendons in it. It's a minor same day surgery and she'll be up and about again in a few days after it.
Please keep her in your prayers. And God bless.

It's hard to believe it's February already. Right now it is snowing outside. I love the snow, of course driving in it is difficult, but I love it anyway. We were blessed this last year with a white Chistmas at our house. It has actually snowed on Christmas maybe 5 or 6 times in the last 100 years in my area, and this Christmas was one of them. Since Christmas it has snowed several times, once to close some schools and delay others, but mostly it was gone by late morning early afternoon. Though this snow is nothing compared to the snow we had at the begining of December.
It snowed one day and stuck around the next and then it started to rain. When the rains started they came in hard. All the snow was melted by that evening and it still rained. Soon areas were severly flooding. Houses, roads, bridges,cars... lots of things were being damaged by the flood waters. My uncle had part of his fondation collapse, I know of others that had other major damage done to their houses. A small bridge went down and is still not fixed. Many lost homes or belongings, as far as I know there weren't any deaths, I could be wrong. Though this I am thankful to God that I was kept safe and that my family is all okay. Now as those in the areas around me rebuild and repair, the snow and rain continue to fall, making returning to normal life difficult for some. Praises be to God and to those who are praying for us here in Western Washington that we will make it though this time of trial and see the light in the end.
Blessings to you all,
~Katrina

Well, this last week, I went to Denver to attend a Missionary Assessment Center, to see how ready I was to enter the missions field. After 4 very filled days of interviews, team cooperation, and lectures, the conclusion was that at this time I'm not quite ready to go into the field as a Missionary. There are some things that I need to work on in my life before I head out.
At first I was disappointed about this, but I know that God has something in mind for me. He wants me at home for now and I accept that and will work at whatever he places in my path in terms of ministry and life.
